What to do with the kids this summer? My girls are 4 and 1 and their needs/interests vary quite a bit. Never mind their attention span. So I got a ride on beach pass that is about 6 miles away. Thinking this would be a great place to spend an hour or 10. Great place to have dinner or watch fireworks. I have been very excited to spend my summer in the sun with a bikini. Nothing like that tingle on your skin.
Unfortunately my great ideas havent started out as planned. Day 1: Got the car stuck in the sand 10 seconds after arriving. Two hours later and the help from 6 very kind beach-goers I was freed up to enjoy 1/2 hour in the sun. Oh well there is always tomorow…….The next day I opted not to drive on the newly packed (or not so packed) sand and parked in the lot. After hours of preparation (two kids turn a 10 minute ordeal into 1 hour!) we arrive at the beach to find the temperature at the seacoast has dropped 20 degrees from home!!!! We all rallied, stayed for about an hour and was able to leave without frost bite.
Today couldn’t be a better day to enjoy the sun. After a gloomy morning the is now shinning bright! So what do I do? Head to Shaw’s…..
The deals are too good to pass up. I plan on making multiple trips this week. The following is what I got today. Mind you, this trip included 2 screaming kids and my coupon assistant working double time to distract my kids. I was actually hiding from them in another aisles with that “whose kids are they” expression on my face. But I knew exactly that they belonged to me by recognizing the trail of crackers, missing shoes and a pacifier……

$100 including deposit with a $5.00 catalina off my next order. $174.39 in SAVINGS! I was able to get the dollar amount down by using the $5 off $20 Kraft deal, $3 off 3 frito lay deal, 5 for $10 coke (paired it with the shaws savings flyer $2 off 2/12 pack). I also had coupons for Ritz, Helavagood, Wackymac, Sabra, Ken’s, Gerber, Heinz, Lawdrys, Kible and bits…..to name a few.
